The Beginnings...
Here's a little history...
If you've read "About Me" you know that I left my own dance training/performing for a time and returned a while ago to teach workshops and classes. Here's a few more details that lead us to the current happenings in Quenched Pure Performance.
For the last 4 years I have taught the dance and movement classes at Rocky Mountain College - Theatre Arts. After viewing my style of teaching and the works that came of it, I was encouraged by several people to start my own company. Funny and divine timing - I had been considering this already and I was encouraged to pursure it.
So, over the last year I have been ruminating on what this new company would look like and where we would take it.
The result of those journals, prayers and passionate discussions is 'Quenched Pure Performance'. June 1 and 2, 2006 will mark the public performance of the culmination of our first creative and innovative faith project. It is entitled 'Unveiled' and will be presented compliments of Cardel Theatre. All our rehearsal space is donated by Rocky Mountain College. (Check out their website if you are interested in acting training that kicks butt!)
I will be performing, creating and directing this work alongside the few devoted, who are able to commit to this journey and dive into the questions and technical production requirements it brings forth. I feel excited, vulnerable and as though I can 'do no other', even if it ends up being a 'one-woman' show. It probably won't be, but I have been joking about this and setting myself to be grounded enough to go ahead with this project even it is!
